The Wreck of the Cali is one of many wrecks located around Grand Cayman or
Little Cayman that are available for Cayman diving or Cayman Islands snorkeling.
The Cali was a four-masted
schooner sunk just outside the harbour north of Georgetown in 1957 and has been
a favorite of Cayman snorkelers ever since.
This site is
great for Cayman Islands snorkeling due to the abundant marine life around the
wreck and it's close proximity to shore. The 20 foot depth also makes it easy to
snorkel for almost anyone.
Another great Cayman wreck dive and Cayman
snorkeling site just outside of George Town is the Wreck of the Balboa. Sunk in
a hurricane in 1932, this freighter sits in l25 to 40 feet of water in George
Town Harbor. This is a great site for night diving or daytime diving and
snorkeling on the week-eds when no cruise ships are in port.
Eden Rock Diving Center is the gateway to the main
attraction Eden Rocks and Devil's Grotto is reputed to be the second and third
best shore dives in the world. Both reefs, just a short swim from shore, are
extremely popular among divers and snorkelers.
